Co-Managing Attorney
Danny J. Kim is a New York–based attorney and strategic advisor who works at the intersection of intellectual property, technology, business, corporate, and cross-border commercial strategy. He advises startups, growth-stage companies, established enterprises, and individual clients on intellectual property strategy, commercialization, investment readiness, corporate growth, strategic transactions, and complex business matters across a broad range of industries, including medical device, pharmaceutical, mobility, manufacturing, software, AI, and other emerging technologies.
His experience includes patent prosecution, IP due diligence, strategic counseling, and matters relating to M&A, investment, licensing, joint ventures, executive and operational matters, and other strategic and cross-border transactions, including Series A, Series B, and Series C investments across the United States and Korea. He has experience developing and structuring intellectual property and technology portfolios to support investment, commercialization, scaling, operational growth, and international business expansion.
Danny’s practice also includes inter partes review (IPR) proceedings, patent litigation support, and strategic analyses relating to validity, infringement, and freedom-to-operate matters, as well as select commercial and business-related disputes.
With multidisciplinary technical and regulatory backgrounds spanning CIPP/US, MS/BS in Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering, and BS degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering, Danny advises on technologies relating to biotechnology, software, AI, hardware, advanced engineering systems, and emerging technology platforms. He also serves as an advisor to KAIST and KAIST Global, supporting international initiatives, cross-border collaboration, and global business engagement efforts.
Prior to joining Solid State Law Firm as Co-Managing Attorney, Danny practiced as a patent attorney in New York and previously served as a patent agent at leading law firms. He also served as a patent examiner at the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
